19th Century Chinese Export Lacquer Table Cabinet Qing Period
Stunning old Chinese table cabinet, 19th Century, having a gilded cornice surmounted by a carved shell over double doors that open to reveal five wide drawers.
Pair of raised panel doors opens to five drawers with turned cream handles (I am unsure if these are bone or ivory), decorated throughout gilt with scenes with figures, pavilions trees and flowers in a black ground, on bracket feet.
There is extensive crackling and visible loss of paint. See photos for condition of paint loss. It is stable and solid. One drawer handle may have been replaced some time ago. It has a charming distressed and old world charm as it is. Two u-bolts were added to the back , it could be hung on a wall or displayed on a table or bookshelf.
16.75” tall x 12.25” wide x 7” deep
